FAQ

How often should my piano be tuned?

Most pianos should be tuned every 6–12 months, depending on how often they’re played and changes in humidity.

What areas do you cover?

I work across Richmond, Kew, Chiswick, Twickenham, Barnes, Sheen, and the wider West London area.

How long does a tuning take?

A standard tuning usually takes about 90 minutes. If your piano needs extra attention, such as minor repairs or regulation, I’ll let you know during the visit.

Can you repair sticking keys or pedal problems?

Yes — small issues like sluggish keys, buzzing notes, or pedal adjustments can often be fixed on the spot.

How much does a tuning cost?

Standard tuning is £100. Additional work, if needed, is discussed and agreed before I begin.

While I’ve only recently moved my piano business to the UK, here are some of the reviews from my long-standing clients in Boston.

Screenshots of two online reviews about Ian and his piano tuning services. The first review is by Jen Dervan, praising Ian for tuning her 1970s Steinway upright and recommending his careful work. The second review is by Priscilla Swain, complimenting Ian's understanding of aging pianos and his artistic approach.
